Course Summary: This course is designed for students who want to improve their performance on the SAT Reading section. Students will read literary passages, historical documents, and scientific articles to develop their reading comprehension skills and analytical thinking. Through extensive practice with test questions, students will learn how to interpret challenging content and refine their time-management skills. A reading diagnostic will be provided at the beginning of the course, and a final test will be given at the end of the course to help students track their progress. In addition to classwork, students will complete one hour of homework each week to practice for the exam.
Class Size: 6-8 students

Homework: Around 60 minutes each week

About Coach Medel
Courtney Medel earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing from Biola University, where she was a featured poet for the annual poetry forum. Afterward, Courtney taught English as a second language at the Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile. Courtney wanted to pursue a career in education and obtained a single subject credential in English Language Arts and a Master of Education from National University. She has taught high school English grades 9–12 and AP English in California and has worked at international bilingual schools in Cali, Colombia.
